Practical Ways to Study God’s Truth
Whether you made a New Year’s resolution to devote more time to learning the word of God, or you simply want to increase your awareness and knowledge of the Bible, there are plenty of ways to incorporate study techniques into your day-to-day life.
- Join a group
One of the best ways to learn more about the Bible while meeting people at the same time is to join your local study group.
Not only will you get the chance to discuss your findings but you will also make connections with like-minded people. Wear our Faith Over Fear t-shirt to spark conversation and make new friends!
- Download an app
Technology doesn’t just allow us to stay in touch with friends and family, these days it can also bring us closer to God! Download a Bible app on your phone so that you can study verses and scripture next time you’re waiting in a queue.
- Listen to the audio version
Some people are able to process information much better when they are listening to it, and who better to listen to than the greatest storyteller of all time – Jesus! Ok, so you won’t be able to hear the actual Jesus, but an audio version of the Bible is widely available if you prefer to learn this way.
- Set aside Bible time
Studies have shown that if someone takes part in a task for 23 days in a row, they are a lot more likely to create a daily habit out of it. Set aside 10 minutes a day to read the Bible and try to stick to this habit for 365 days.
- Memorize your favorite bits
Once you’ve discovered a verse that really speaks to you, write it down and memorize it. Stick it to your bathroom mirror so that you can see it every morning and switch it up with a new one every month.
